The official government spokesperson, Haider Al-Aboudi, announced on Monday the recording of unprecedented positive indicators in the anti-corruption file, unseen since 2003. Al-Aboudi also indicated that measures to restrict weapons to the state represent a natural restoration of sound governance

practices and constitutional constants. The Iraqi government, which gained the confidence of the Council of Representatives on May 14, 2026, and has been operating for 107 days, is committed to implementing its sovereign priorities, foremost among them the anti-corruption file, executed

through tangible practical procedures. He explained these steps are closely integrated with judicial authority decisions, the Integrity Commission's tasks, the Financial Supervision Bureau, and the oversight role of the Council of Representatives. This comprehensive coordination among federal state authorities has

yielded fundamental indicators in combating corruption, unmatched for many years since the modern Iraqi state's establishment after 2003. In a related context regarding the withdrawal of international coalition forces, Al-Aboudi affirmed that coordination and follow-up indicate an orderly withdrawal process and

progressive handover of sites to Iraqi forces. He stated the government eagerly awaits September 30, a significant sovereign milestone for the Iraqi state and people. He added that matters proceed according to a specific plan to achieve this national objective,

as this date will mark the complete end of the international coalition's mission on Iraqi soil. Al-Aboudi addressed restricting weapons to the state, clarifying it is a top priority within the government's ministerial program, representing a fundamental pillar for enhancing national

sovereignty. He further stated that the government's procedures and commitment in this regard reflect a natural return to state operating procedures and a restoration of constitutional constants that grant the Iraqi armed forces alone authority to monopolize force. He stressed

these constitutional principles prohibit and prevent the formation of any armed groups outside the official security system authorized by law and the constitution.
