provided by the defense department to congressional oversight committees. This figure includes 11.2 billion dollars in operational expenses and 32.4 billion dollars for replacing damaged munitions, aircraft, and equipment. Previous estimates had placed the operation costs at around 33.4 billion
dollars through June 29, and about 38 billion dollars through August 1, with figures varying depending on the calculation dates and included costs.
