Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zaidi has directed continued service provision and reverse transportation efforts to ensure pilgrim safety, noting that Arbaeen visitor numbers exceeded 20 million. His directive came during an expanded meeting he chaired last Monday evening in holy Karbala.
The meeting, attended by ministers, governors, security chiefs, and heads of service entities, reviewed the comprehensive plan for the Arbaeen commemoration of Imam Hussein (PBUH). During the session, Al-Zaidi affirmed a concerted effort in Karbala to serve the Master of Martyrs'
visitors. He highlighted that the smooth flow of crowds demonstrated the success of pre-planned arrangements. The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to all service contributors: holy shrines, convoy organizers, volunteers, and security forces. He instructed immediate planning for the next pilgrimage, ongoing
work by relevant committees, and sustained cleaning and reverse transport until the last pilgrim safely returns home. Al-Zaidi reviewed detailed reports on services provided over fifteen days. Ministers and officials presented Karbala's security and service plans, encompassing transport, healthcare, and other
vital provisions that ensured the pilgrimage's success. Reports indicated highly efficient transport for over 20 million pilgrims. Ministries, authorities, and governorates supplied over 10,000 vehicles, complementing around 3,000 rented large buses and private cars. The reports also underscored significant inter-committee cooperation
in addressing challenges.
