The head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, affirmed on Sunday his support for the state's efforts to enforce the rule of law and restrict weapons. Al-Maliki received at his office the Charge d'affaires of the United States Embassy
in Iraq, Joshua Harris. They discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries. The meeting also covered current political developments and ongoing dialogues among political forces towards completing the vote on the remaining ministerial portfolios. Al-Maliki highlighted the importance
of establishing political and security stability in the country and supporting state efforts to enforce the rule of law and restrict weapons to official institutions. He emphasized that this strengthens the prestige of the state, maintains security and stability, and
preserves the supreme interests of the Iraqi people. He also stressed the importance of adhering to the implementation of the provisions of the Strategic Framework Agreement between Iraq and the United States. This commitment, he stated, serves the common interests of
both countries, respects Iraq's sovereignty and independent national decision, and contributes to developing cooperation in economic, educational, cultural, and security fields, in accordance with the agreement's stipulations.
