Chief Justice Faiq Zidan, head of the Supreme Judicial Council, met on Monday with Stephen Fagin, the new US Chargé d'Affaires in Iraq. They discussed the judiciary's role in supporting government efforts to restrict arms to state control. Justice Zidan
welcomed Mr. Fagin at the Council's headquarters. The talks centered on judicial backing for the government's arms monopolization program, which is based on a well-structured plan. This plan was adopted by the Coordination Framework, with an affiliated committee responsible for
its development and subsequent announcement upon completion and at the suitable time. This initiative aims to uphold Iraq's commitment to positive international relations and ensure the enforcement of its constitution and laws.
