The Kremlin has declared France's detention of the oil tanker "Tagor" as strictly illegal, branding the act as "piracy." Dmitry Peskov, the Russian presidential spokesperson, informed journalists that Moscow considers these actions unlawful and akin to international piracy. Peskov asserted
that the Kremlin completely rejects any claims of compliance with international law in this matter. He added that Russia is taking and will continue to take measures to secure its shipments, drawing on past negative experiences.
