Middle Oil Company announced on Wednesday the signing of contracts for selling oil and pumping it via the strategic pipeline and Basra outlets. The company unveiled a plan to increase production to meet the upcoming demands of stations and refineries. Mohammed
Yassin Hassan, the company's Director General, stated to the official agency that the company's production reached 160,000 barrels per day before the export crisis, declining to 90,000 barrels per day in 2023, then rising again to 160,000 barrels per day
by 2025. He affirmed that the regional military escalation had reduced oil production. Hassan added that the company's current production reaches 100 percent, and sometimes exceeds it, according to the needs of stations and refineries. The company harbors an ambition to
increase this production in line with market demand and the sales of the State Oil Marketing Organization (SOMO) in the coming days. He also referred to contracts for selling oil by trucks (tankers), whereby the company will undertake its production and
pumping via the strategic pipeline or Basra outlets, while SOMO will be responsible for selling it.
