The Parliamentary Integrity Committee announced the asset recovery law as a top legislative priority for the upcoming phase. Ahmed Shaheed, a committee member, affirmed that "the asset recovery law is a primary focus for the committee in the next legislative session,
aligning with government directives supporting the anti-corruption drive." Shaheed added that "its approval will strengthen the legislative framework for protecting and recovering public funds." He stated that "the law leads the Integrity Committee's priorities, alongside other key legislations for enhancing integrity
and oversight, representing a fundamental pillar for state efforts against corruption and safeguarding public money." Shaheed explained that "advancing a robust and effective asset recovery law aligns with the national anti-corruption campaign," noting, "the current phase demands a comprehensive legal framework
to bolster measures for pursuing corrupt individuals, ensuring their accountability, and recovering public funds in accordance with the law." He concluded that "the law's approval will provide crucial legislative support for implementing judicial procedures against those involved in corruption cases, consistent
with the government's program to solidify integrity, transparency, restore public funds, and hold accountable all who infringe upon them."
