Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zaidi announced strategic government plans aimed at raising Iraq's oil production to a level of 10 million barrels per day over the next five years. This declaration came on Monday, as part of a comprehensive vision
for the development of the energy sector. In this context, Al-Zaidi received TotalEnergies Chairman Patrick Pouyanné and his accompanying delegation at his residence in the French capital, Paris. The meeting reviewed the strategic projects being implemented by the company in Iraq,
with particular emphasis on the gas sector. The Prime Minister's office had issued a statement regarding this. During the meeting, Al-Zaidi affirmed the government's commitment to expanding the scope of associated gas investment with the goal of achieving self-sufficiency, in addition
to plans for expanding oil production over the next five years, which will enable the country to reach the target of 10 million barrels per day. He also emphasized initiating the expansion of oil exploration areas across Iraq, a step
aimed at fostering national economic growth and supporting comprehensive development plans. Al-Zaidi revealed that preparations are currently underway to host an international energy conference in the capital, Baghdad. For his part, TotalEnergies Chairman Patrick Pouyanné expressed his company's full readiness to
cooperate with Iraq in all oil and energy fields. Pouyanné indicated that the company currently holds vital oil investments in Iraq valued at $12 billion, with future plans to increase them to $16 billion.
