A statement from the Iraqi Foreign Ministry said that Fuad Hussein received Iranian ambassador Mohammad Kazem Al-Sadiq.
During the meeting, the minister thanked Iran for allowing Iraqi oil tankers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
Earlier Sunday, Hussein expressed appreciation for facilitating oil shipments through the strategic waterway.
The ambassador reviewed Iran’s position on recent war-related developments, while regional issues were also discussed.
Hussein reiterated Iraq’s firm policy of rejecting war and emphasized peaceful dialogue.
He also highlighted the importance of regional cooperation for stability.
