The General Authority for Customs announced on Sunday the foiling of a $226,000 smuggling attempt at Kirkuk Airport Customs Center. A passenger was found with the currency during departure lounge inspection, in violation of Iraqi Central Bank regulations. An official
seizure report was organized, and a legal case filed against the passenger, as per effective customs regulations. The operation involved competent authorities and was under direct supervision from the center's management. The Authority affirmed continuous seizure operations, part of its
stringent efforts to combat smuggling and protect the national economy, reiterating its commitment to ongoing supervisory campaigns with full resolve.
