Kuwait on Wednesday summoned the acting Chargé d'Affaires of the Iranian Embassy, Counselor Hamid Hami Yaqoubi Far, presenting a formal protest note over recent Iranian attacks on its territory. Deputy Foreign Minister, Ambassador Hamad Suleiman Al-Mashaan, informed the Iranian official of
Kuwait's decision to reduce embassy staff. Two Iranian diplomats were also declared persona non grata, required to leave the country within 24 hours. Al-Mashaan clarified this step followed ongoing Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks, which early today struck several civilian
and vital installations, including Kuwait International Airport. The attacks caused one death, dozens of civilian injuries, and material damage to critical infrastructure and diplomatic premises. The Deputy Minister asserted these attacks blatantly violate Kuwait's sovereignty and territorial integrity, alongside international law,
the UN Charter, and Security Council resolutions. Kuwait firmly condemned the attacks, reiterating its absolute rejection of using its land or airspace for hostile acts against any state. It emphasized Iran's accusations against it lack any basis in evidence. Kuwait also affirmed
its full right to implement all necessary measures to defend its sovereignty, protect its security, citizens, and residents, in line with international law.
