The governor of Qeshm in southern Iran, Amir Teimouri, announced that four crew members of a commercial container ship sustained injuries after an assault on Sunday morning. The attack occurred in the waters near Hengam Island and the coast of

Shib Deraz, south of Qeshm Island. Teimouri stated in remarks to local media on Sunday that two of the injured hold Iranian nationality, while the other two are Pakistani nationals. The vessel was targeted around 5:00 AM, and the assault also resulted

in the death of one of its crew members, according to official information released by the Hormozgan governorate. Iranian sources indicated that the ship was carrying ten crew members at the time of the incident. Further details regarding the extent of

the damage to the vessel or the identity of those responsible for the attack have not yet been disclosed. In a related development, the Iranian Broadcasting and Television Agency described the incident as an "attack by the terrorist enemy," without explicitly

identifying the party behind it. In a separate incident, the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported on Sunday that another vessel was struck by an unknown projectile while transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The UKMTO noted in its initial report that

the extent of the damage and the status of the crew members remained unclear. These events unfold amidst escalating tensions in the waters of the Arabian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, coinciding with the military confrontation between Iran and the

United States, and recent mutual targeting of tankers and ships in the region.
