Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi on Saturday oversaw the signing of a contract to develop and operate the Ajeel oil field, executed by North Oil Company and KEBPT. The Prime Minister's media office clarified the contract aims to maximize hydrocarbon resource
investment and boost oil and gas production, making optimal use of field resources. This will enhance energy security and support the nation's electricity generation system. The agreement spans twenty-five years, targeting gradual production increases in the field. Gas output is projected
to rise from approximately 135 million standard cubic feet daily to 300 million, with oil production increasing from 30,000 barrels daily to 40,000 barrels per day.
