The Egyptian House of Representatives is resuming its general sessions to debate a request submitted by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi seeking parliamentary authorization to implement military measures in support of Saudi Arabia should the Kingdom request assistance. Egyptian parliamentarian Mostafa
Bakry stated that the assembly will continue its deliberations across Monday and Tuesday to review the mandate for deploying armed forces, following an extraordinary session held on Sunday in full accordance with constitutional procedures governing the dispatch of military units
on combat missions outside national borders. This legislative movement follows a comprehensive meeting held by the National Defense Council at Al-Ittihadiya Palace under the chairmanship of Sisi, during which the council affirmed Egypt's absolute solidarity and full commitment to standing
alongside Riyadh, expressing readiness to provide all essential and viable forms of support to protect Saudi stability, secure its territory, and safeguard its resources and Islamic holy sites. The council meeting convened key state leaders, including the Speaker of Parliament,
the Prime Minister, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense, the Chief of Staff, along with the ministers of foreign affairs, interior, and finance, the director of General Intelligence, leaders of the main military branches, the head
of the Armed Forces Operations Authority, the head of Military Intelligence, and the council secretary general. The presidential spokesperson noted that the session evaluated the current regional landscape and dangerous escalations, particularly the intolerable strikes targeting Saudi lands. These developments
reflect Sisi's recent remarks at the Egyptian Military Academy graduation ceremony, where he reiterated that Cairo will not permit any breach of Saudi security, pledging to carry out protective measures in coordination with King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin
Salman, while urging parliament to provide the necessary constitutional mandate when required.
