Nausėda Supports "Freedom of Navigation" Mission

 Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda announced in Spring 2026 his support for joining the U.S. mission to protect the Strait of Hormuz. Nausėda noted that the surge in oil prices to over 4-year highs necessitates a firm response to secure global fuel supplies. The proposal awaits a National Defense Council review and a subsequent parliamentary mandate.
