Oil prices rose on Friday, ending the week above $100 per barrel for the first time since mid-May. This surge is attributed to escalating attacks on key shipping routes in the Middle East, amplifying concerns about long-term disruptions to crude
oil supplies. Brent crude futures increased by $1.05, or 1%, reaching $108.68 per barrel. Similarly, U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude climbed 95 cents, also by 1%, to $103.45. Both benchmarks had jumped more than 6% during Thursday's trading. On a weekly
basis, oil prices saw an approximate 13% rise, marking the largest weekly gains since the week ending July 17.
