Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi today affirmed the government's unwavering commitment to establishing security, protecting Iraq's national security decision, and state weapons monopoly. This declaration marked the tenth anniversary of ISIS's occupation of Mosul on June 10. Al-Zaidi described it as a
painful juncture in modern Iraqi history, noting the occupation stemmed from a criminal conspiracy against Iraq's unity, security, and sovereignty. This plot aimed to dismantle the national fabric, undermine state institutions, and impose a dark project alien to Iraqi values
and history. Al-Zaidi added these gangs committed heinous crimes: desecrating cities, shedding innocent blood, violating sanctities, and causing thousands of martyrs, wounded, and missing, in a desperate bid to break Iraqi will and undermine national identity. He stressed Iraq, despite its most
dangerous contemporary challenges, proved an unbreakable nation. Responding to the supreme religious authority's fatwa for defensive jihad, under the Iraqi flag, the people united across affiliations. The heroism of armed forces, security agencies, PMF, and Peshmerga merged with Iraqi sacrifices,
supported by allies, to craft an immortal national epic culminating in land liberation and terrorism defeat. Recalling these noble sacrifices, Al-Zaidi renewed the pledge to sustain victory, achieved by martyrs' blood and heroes' sacrifices, emphasizing strengthened security forces capabilities. He affirmed
the government's steadfast progress in solidifying security, stability, enhancing Iraq's sovereignty, protecting its independent national decision, monopolizing weapons, and advancing comprehensive development, reconstruction, and reform, to realize aspirations for a strong, capable state providing dignified life and promising opportunities for
citizens. Concluding, Al-Zaidi expressed appreciation for national stances of political forces supporting stability, reform, and development, which reinforce unity and national decision strength, contributing to state foundations and Iraq's future.
